Today after a long day, I thought I would kick off October with a Dark Lager. I walked across the street to the local market and picked up a Justus Hildebrand Schwarzbier Dark Lager. Schwarzbier, literally meaning Black beer in German, is (well) black in color and is made with dark malts which are usually dry and roasted.
In 1831, Justus Hildebrand founded a brewery called The Deer, and since then the business has grown into an internationally sold brand.
I personally found the dark larger only alright, and it seemed a little watered down. But to give it credit, it was tasty and not the worst beer I have ever had, but certainly not the best.
